Although only very few members showed up (maybe the Chusok–holiday planning was already in full swing), it was an interesting evening.
Initially, Marc Devriendt, Investment and Trade Commissioner of Flanders Investment & Trade gave a very short update regarding embassy matters and gave information about the upcoming investment seminar on Belgium, co-organized by F.I.&T. and AWEX that is scheduled to take place on 25th of October in Seoul
Highlight of this seminar will be without any doubt the presentation of a representative of de Belgian Ministry of Finance, explaining the advantages to invest in Belgium, and, unfortunately for those who still pay taxes on their income in Belgium, the country is not a tax-heaven as been often mentioned in the local press.
Further that evening, experiences were exchanged regarding members who had the opportunity to visit Pyongyang and Kaesong, creating an interesting exchange of thoughts. In the end, time was running out and we had to make an end to this get-together.
